Functional Performance Upgrade. The Eibach Sportline spring kit is for 2005–2010 Ford Mustang GT models and is designed to replace the factory springs with a firmer set of springs that will provide better performance, and lower the front of your Mustang by 1.6-inches and the rear by 2-inches, but will vary slightly if you have a coupe or convertible model due to the difference in weight. The kit will provide a lower center of gravity for better overall handling and still clear the factory wheels and tires, making this a very functional entry level suspension solution, but with a firmer ride. If you’re looking for a softer ride, Eibach also offers the Pro kit line which doesn’t offer as much of a drop, but provides a slightly softer ride. Simple Construction. The springs are a progressive rate spring that are finished in a red powder coat finish. The springs lower the overall stance of the Mustang 1.6-inches in the front and 2-inches in the rear, while still maintaining a comfortable ride and the ability to use the factory wheels and tires. The kit also includes a pair of dust boots for the struts and replacement bump stops to take into account the lowered stance. Mid-level Installation. The installation is straightforward, but slightly involved. Requiring the removal of the factory suspension, decompressing and remove the factory springs, followed by compressing and installing the new Eibach Sportline springs. Overall the installation can take about 4 hours to complete with basic hand tools and spring compressors. It’s also recommended that the vehicle have an alignment done after the installation of the springs.
