Dude, just wow. I don't know why this level has such a strong impact on me but it just does. It has many things I expect a level to do that people often forget: First, a "balanced" level is not necessarily fun to play. Having all parts of equal difficulty is often mistaken as a prerequisite despite not being one at all. In this level, the beginning being easy demon difficulty is not only fine, it works in its favour. Second, visuals that keep you immersed. With a title like "Monitor" you expect some sort of dark, ominous and robotic landscape. Something oppressing. And oppressing this level is, with the screen breaking and the pixelated effect. I mean I have over 150 extremes and this level managed to scare me going into it, despite it being fundamentally easy, just from visuals alone. Third, song representation. And I don't mean the sync kind, I mean the "understanding what the song is doing at its core and replicating that". It's not an easy task, and requires some artistic knowledge and intuition to really get it right. Monitor does just that. It succeeds at every task. Playing this feels like entering a script. You are traversing through lines of code. Through an abandoned supercomputer. And you are trying so hard to break out of it.
