== DISCLAIMER == This video acts as a retrospective picking out the highlights from the past year of popular music as experienced by me, with all the biases and limitations that entails. Many artists, albums, EPs, singles, music videos, music adjacent experiences, and so on were not considered for this video due to these limits. I encourage anyone dissatisfied with this video to comment below or to make their own. Discussion is one of the key aspects of music's power as a bonding agent for communities. You will not experience everything 2025 had to offer by watching this video. Enjoy music and explore for yourself. This series is meant to be a guide and an expression of my personal feelings towards these artists and their bodies of work. == WATCH THE ORIGINALS == Playlist: • 2025's Best Musical Moments (According to ... As stated above, there were many pieces of music I wanted to explore by didn't have time to OR there were albums and bodies of work that didn't move me to include them here. A few noteworthy cuts I had to make were: The album "Victory" and the song "Stress" by Slick Rick (this was actually in the running all the way to the second to last draft but was removed due to a lurking distaste for the record due to its social commentary; "Landlord" IYKYK) The album "I Heard It's a Mess There Too" by Aesop Rock (despite the joke about Boldy James, I actually DO restrain myself to a single artist; technically, Nicholas Craven was the artist for Boldy's 2nd entry) The album "neighborhood gods unlimited" by Open Mike Eagle (just didn't connect with me very strongly) The album "Sad and Beautiful World" by Mavis Staples (beautiful record, great songs, just didn't fit the tone of this video) The song "MUTT (Remix) by Leon Thomas (ft. Freddie Gibbs) (I simply thought this came out in 2025 but I was crushed that this was a 2024 release that I didn't get in time for that list) Artists I did NOT consider for this list that may upset some people: Playboi Carti Taylor Swift PARTYNEXTDOOR/Drake Joey Valance & Brae Rosalia FKA Twigs Jane Remover Quadeca More rock/metal Anything to do with K-Pop Demon Hunters Other soundtracks such as videogames, TV shows, etc. I simply do not have infinite time and interest. I apologize but these are passion projects, unmonetized. I do what I can with the little I have. (And I just don't like some of these people.) == CONSIDERATIONS & METHODOLOGY == 1 headlining artist appearance per list (may reoccur as a feature). Awards are arbitrary and given out at the videomaker's discretion. Music and lyric videos used for background footage if possible but I prioritize the integrity of the music listening experience above all and adhering to copyright laws. I am very tired now. Thank you all for watching. I need to learn FL Studio.
