However, it is rarely the main, most important instrument. Dorothy Ashby's harp is that exception, rare exception. Here, 23 years old Ashby is interwining chords with Frank Wess's flute and hell, this works! You can also hear prominent jazz drumer here - Roy Haynes, who passed away half year ago. He contributed with his sticks to over 1400 records! This is from Ashby's second album titled "In A Minor Groove". Originally released in 1958 on New Jazz label (cat. 8209). The copy You are listening was issued in 2022 on Sowing Records as SOW042. A good eye will notice that the record is transparent.
