FIRST OAT HARVEST ON THE NEW $20,000,000 MEGA BEEF FARM! | Reading, MN | Farming Simulator 25 #11

In today’s episode, it’s finally time to do something we’ve been working toward since the very beginning of this series — firing up the combines for the first time and kicking off our very first harvest season here on the MEGA Beef Farm. After months of planning, planting, and preparation, our crops are finally ready, and it feels great to officially move into harvest mode. In the last episode, we wrapped up the final major fieldwork before harvest by pulling out our two John Deere 4830 self-propelled sprayers and applying herbicide across all four of our fields. Between over 500 acres of Corn and 70 acres of Oats, we were able to completely wipe out the weeds and set our crops up to finish the growing season clean and strong. That herbicide pass was the final piece of the puzzle before we could sit back, advance time, and let everything finish growing. Since then, I’ve brought all of our equipment back to the farm yard. The sprayers, tillage equipment, and tractors have all been washed, serviced, and parked back in the sheds as we officially shift gears from summer fieldwork into harvest. I’ve also advanced time forward a couple of months, and we now find ourselves in late August of Year 1, with our first crop fully mature and ready to come off the field. To kick things off today, we’ll be heading over to the harvest shed and firing up both of our Case IH 9240 combines. We’ll get the draper headers hooked up, get everything fueled and ready, and then send the entire harvesting setup over to Field 25, which is our 70-acre Oat field. This will be the first harvest of Year 1 here in Reading, Minnesota, and while it’s one of the smaller fields we’ll be harvesting this year, it’s still an extremely important crop for the farm. Once the combines are on the road, I’ll fire up our Challenger MT867 and hook it up to 1 of our J&M auger wagons. We do own two wagons, but for this Oat harvest, I think we can comfortably manage with just one. I’ll get the tractor and wagon set up on AutoDrive and send it over to the field, while I fire up one of our semi trucks, hook up a grain trailer, and make the trip out to the field myself to meet the rest of the fleet. When we arrive at the Oat field, we’ll get both combines set up, open the field, and then I’ll build a Courseplay route so both machines can harvest side by side. I’ll be running the Challenger myself, keeping the combines unloaded and moving, while the semi truck stages nearby. Once the first trailer is full, I’ll haul it back to the farm manually so I can set up our AutoDrive unloading routes at the grain bin site. After those routes are dialed in, I’ll fire up a second semi truck and let AutoDrive handle the hauling while I focus on carting grain and keeping the harvest moving smoothly. Thanks for watching!!
