📅 February 12, 2025 We set off from Shiqu County and crossed the vast expanse of the Zhaxiqa Grassland, arriving at the legendary Song Ge Mani Stone Fortress. This thousand-year-old stone labyrinth, with every slab of stone inscribed with Tibetan prayers, seemed to be gilded by the setting sun. The moment we encountered a living Buddha chanting scriptures, the devout prostrations of the Tibetans made the air stand still in the radiance of faith. We also carved a stone with the Heart Mantra of Guru Rinpoche ourselves. The Tibetan craftsmen's brushstrokes were as light as the wind, while our own Chinese characters were charmingly naive—a wonderful experience of cultural integration that is perhaps the true meaning of travel! 🚙 On our way to Dege County, we unexpectedly encountered Zuoqin Monastery. Hidden in the mountains, this ancient temple, with its red walls and golden roofs set against the snow-capped mountains, had the sound of chanting scriptures drifting in the wind, as if time had slowed down here. A brief stay was enough to let the soul settle. I highly recommend walking around the stupa three times to feel that pure tranquility. ✨ Travel Tips: 1️⃣ Song Ge Mani Stone Fortress: Free admission. It's best to arrive before sunset for the stunning light and shadow effects! Wear comfortable shoes for exploring the maze-like alleys. 2️⃣ Zuoqin Monastery: Respect local customs. Turn the prayer wheels clockwise and keep conversations low. 3️⃣ Road Conditions: The road from Shiqu to Dege is bumpy in some sections. An SUV is recommended. Bring snacks and water. 📸 The video is ready!
