Pretty Weed

The cats have been bringing home long seeds in their fur, from way down on the moor, these past couple of years, and, lately, it's all starting to pay off in pretty yellow wildflower weeds. These weeds look like some sort of relative of Tagetes--as I recall those French and Mexican marigolds are called. They are obviously members of the daisy family, Compositae. Very pretty, anyway, and I need all the nice wildflowers I can get. They help create that nice cottage garden atmosphere. I am happy for these weeds to spread themselves all around the estate. I like a bit of colour, here and there, when I'm on my walks about the grounds. Since they released a predator on the purple Patterson's Curse, and the flowers have all disappeared, there is now a preponderance of purple wild statice instead. That's interesting. And now these yellow daisy-like friends are appearing in autumn. So that's very nice! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
