There are many ways to look at origami tessellations that go beyond the crease pattern and the folded form. For starters, you can annotate the crease pattern to mark the symmetry points or to mark the twists and their connections through pleats (skeleton diagram) and use those connections between shapes to construct a tiling diagram. That tiling diagram can be annotated to find the tiling breaks, which inform the folding process. Even the folded form has multiple views, with a dramatic change in appearance if you flip the paper over or shine light through the tessellation. You can use my crease pattern templates to make your own designs - get the free download here: https://training.gatheringfolds.com/d... My most thorough resource for learning to read crease patterns is the 50-lesson Tessellation Starter Sequence that teaches twists, structures, and how to identify them in crease patterns: https://training.gatheringfolds.com/sseq Learning to fold origami tessellations with as many repeats as you want takes many of the same skills as designing these tessellations. Tessellation Academy teaches a tiling-based approach to these skills and you can learn more about this membership here: https://training.gatheringfolds.com/a...
