I didn't know he would be there and I had my eyes closed as I often do when I play the slow movement, when I opened my eyes I saw him...he had settled in front of me with red flashy suspenders and big sunglasses. After this he imposed the concerto on his concert program. He composed a cadenza for me (3rd movement) , inspired me enormously and taught me a lot, I remained in contact with him until his death in 1990.The word "genius" is too often used, but he was a real one!
