A special Easter or Christmas glaze for your ham. For my one year anniversary of cancer free, I'm sharing one of my favorite recipes at this special time of year. Your gathering crowd will beg for the recipe. A little bit goes a long ways. Heat ham in 1/2 c. apple cider. 20 minutes per pound at 325°. Mix 1/8 c. honey (option to use granulated honey), 1/3 c. cherry preserves, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 tsp. dijon mustard, 1/8 tsp. black ground pepper, 1/8 tsp. cinnamon. Mix and heat until warm and dissolved in pot. Serve immediatly or keep warm in small crockpot. Can refridgerate unused glaze for several days. Freeze up to 2-3 months. Can you say yum? Daughter of a successful beekeeper, Virginia grew up working the bees, packaging honey and helping her dad make deliveries in Southeast Idaho and parts of Utah. In 1978, she reigned as Idaho’s first Honey Queen. She has spent her life educating others about the uses of honey, beeswax and byproducts. She enjoys developing and experimenting with honey-infused recipes. A relatively new hobby includes using social media and her YouTube channel to teach others how to store honey, cook with it, use it in health and beauty products, and many other domestic uses. After moving to the Las Vegas Valley in 2001, she continued as a distributor for her family’s Idaho farm-fresh creamed and liquid honey.
