The prime minister will also kickstart the 50th-anniversary celebrations of ICRISAT during his visit. PM Modi will unveil the 216-feet tall 'Statue of Equality on Saturday. In a tweet, PM Modi said, “At 5 PM, I will join the program to inaugurate the ‘Statue of Equality.’ This is a fitting tribute to Sri Ramanujacharya, whose sacred thoughts and teachings inspire us.” The statue commemorates Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who promoted the idea of equality in all aspects of living, including faith, caste, and creed, the Prime Minister’s Office said. The statue is made of ‘panchaloha’, a combination of five metals - gold, silver, copper, brass, and zync. It is among the tallest metallic statues in sitting positions in the world. The statue has been mounted on a 54-feet high base building named ‘Bhadra Vedi’. The building has floors meant for a Vedic digital library and research center, ancient Indian texts, a theatre, and an educational gallery detailing the works of Sri Ramanujacharya. #PMVisitToHyderabad #PMDedicatesStatueOfLiberty #IndiaToday Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
