Summer is a season for positivity and exuberance, a time for sunshine, radiance, and optimism. With those hot summer days drawing to a close, Clash and Magnum Ice- Cream have united for Parlour Talks, a special video series that aims to give fans some extra flavour from their favourite artists. In fact, that’s our Magnum Opus – a unique project powered by Magnum ice cream that revels in sensual utopia. Effervescent host Nella Rose needs no introduction, a joyous personality who recently graced the cover of Clash. Her third guest in our Parlour Talks series is afro-pop trailblazer Tiwa Savage. The Nigerian artist broke the glass ceiling for women in afro-pop, helping to re-shape the form in the process. Pulling from R&B, pop, soul, and hip-hop, Tiwa has built an international reputation through her continued excellence. A multi-faceted artist, she’s also gained acclaim as an actress, but music remains her first, and most abiding love. Nella Rose and Tiwa Savage sample Magnum Ice-Cream’s latest flavours, and things get a little spicy on-set with plenty of playful double entendres from this empowering femme double act. Tiwa reveals a few secrets behind the making of her latest album ‘This One Is Personal’, spills the beans on working with UK icon Skepta, and unfurls a few lessons on how to find peace of mind. “I’m very competitive,” Tiwa Savage reveals. “When you’ve gone through a lot… you have to go back into yourself.” It was an honour to host Nella Rose and Tiwa Savage in conversation, closing our Parlour Talks series in style with a heartfelt celebration of the summer.
