Fostering Women's Entrepreneurship at Every Stage: A Cross-regional Exchange

This is the video replay of a virtual presentation and panel discussion hosted by Global Communities at the NGO CSW68 Forum. Advancing women's economic participation is vital in shaping more just and equitable societies, but cannot be achieved with a one-size-fits-all solution. Women entrepreneurs represent diverse identities and navigate varying socioeconomic landscapes. Initiatives that support them must take nuanced, tailored and intersectional approaches.    This event will explore women’s entrepreneurship in different contexts and stages of development. You will learn about working with young businesswomen in Kosovo and microentrepreneurs in rural Guatemala. You will get insights about projects supporting urban microentrepreneurs in India and women cooperative leaders in Kenya. You will also hear about how increased financial inclusion is bolstering women-owned small and medium enterprises in Jordan. First, the presenters will share their experiences working with local organizations, financial institutions, governments and communities to promote and support women's entrepreneurship at different stages along their journey. Then, they will engage in a cross-regional exchange focused on barriers, gaps and opportunities to facilitate change in diverse contexts.
