This video has been designed to educate the students and persons from paint and coating Institutions, industries and related areas about the long exposure tests. In fact these tests define the life of a coating. A paint or coating failing in these tests and not meeting the specifications led down by various agencies e.g. BIS, ASTM, ISO etc. would not be able to last long. These tests are for those coatings/paints which are supposed to be exposed to the outdoor environment. The environment may be normal as house and buildings in rural areas or it can be as horse as marine atmosphere. The specifications for all these environments are available and they should be followed properly for a coating to have long life. There are factors e.g. rain, UV radiation, gases, light, temperature and fluctuation in temperature in the environment which affect the coating badly.
