Women In Comedy
Who says women aren't funny?? Christopher Hitchens and the majority of the human population, that's who. In this video presentation I made for a school project, I explore many of the issues that women in comedy have to face, like not being taken seriously as female comics, not being represented enough in the media, and dealing with things like gender roles and double standards. In this video, I have included clips of Kristen Wiig and Tina Fey talking about what it's like to be a woman in comedy, a trailer for Bridesmaids, a movie which paved the way for female comedy actresses in Hollywood, and clips of Ellen Degeneres and Dane Cook doing stand-up comedy to compare male and female comedic performances.
