One of my concerts that was cancelled due to COVID-19 was a collab show with the great Madala Kunene. We haven't played together in a few years and I was super looking forward to connecting again. Going through my archive, I found the reason why Bafo and I met in the first place back in August 2006. We were put together by a TV show about artists meeting up for the first time and making something happen over the course of 2-3 days. I was 22. Madala unfortunately burnt his hand real bad in the kitchen so we only have one day (maybe an hour actually) to come up with something. Here is an extract (from the 25min doccie) of our brief rehearsal as well as the gig we did together that night. I do hope when this is all over we can re-schedule that show and finally record something together which we've been talking about doing since then. Miss you Bafo ❤️
