I remember the first time I heard a carved archtop guitar played acoustically - I was surprised by how much the electric and acoustic tones had in common. So here's my attempt to demonstrate. It's not the perfect comparison. The guitar is strung with GHS White Bronze 12s which are quite like a nickel electric string. That's not my favorite acoustic string, but some people like the sound of a semi-electric string on an acoustic archtop, so maybe its OK. There's no EQ, compresssion, or reverb on the audio tracks. All I did in post processing was set the levels. The first clip is all acoustic. The plugged-in electric clip starts at 1:38. Don't Get Around Much Anymore was written by Duke Ellington and first recorded in 1940. Let me know in the comments what you think, or what I could do to make a better demo.
