Wet 'n' windy, solo wild camp; canoeing in Inverpolly, Assynt. [Cam loch and loch Veyati]

This wild camp canoeing adventure doesn't quite go as planned. The plan was simple, to paddle Cam Loch, portage into Loch Veyatie and then down to Fionn Loch. But, unfortunately I am denied by the unforgiving Scottish west coast weather. Me and my dog Indy spend the first night with beautiful scenery on Cam loch with some outdoor cooking up Fajitas on the fire. In the morning we portage down the falls to Loch Veyatie and make our way down the loch. With a strong stern wind we make quick progress, but with the wind predicted to increase on this exposed loch it becomes clear getting back may prove to much of a challenge. and so we decide to leave Fionn Loch for another day and settle down on a loch side beach with magnificent views. It's not long until the rain kicks in though and things start to get an bit wet. But protected by the tarp we enjoy our evening testing out a dried real turmat meal, washed down with a beer from my local brewery. Up early (and greeted by midges) to beat the incoming weather we make our way back to the Ledmore river, with a bit of upstream wading required.
