He has explained the R.I.C.E principal for any acute injury in a simple and easy way. In R.I.C.E Principal, R stands for Rest which is a very basic principle for any sports injury to provide a good and healthy environment for healing. I stands for Icing which is required to reduce pain and swelling. 10-15 minutes every 2 hours of icing is recommended for sportsmen for quick and a fast recovery. C stands for Compression, which is required to reduce swelling, compression can be done by elastic crepe bandage, tubi grips and elastic sleeves. Be careful, compression shouldn’t be given tightly. E stands for elevation. While elevating the injured part, we are trying to reduce the chances of further swelling.
