On today's Prime Time, noted journalist and activist P Sainath tells us why he thinks that the crop insurance scheme by the central government is a 'bigger scam' than Rafale. Mr Sainath says that a selected few private insurance players have been assigned the task of providing insurance to farmers and that the farmers find it a tedious ordeal to approach them with their concerns. He adds that the insurers add clauses in the fine print that the farmers don't understand and use those clauses to avoid paying out - or significantly reducing - the compensation given out in case the crop fails or suffers damages.
