Honda Fireblade Front Brake Light Switch Replacement | 1996 CBR900RR | 005 In this CBR900RR episode, I check the front brake light switch on my Honda Fireblade project bike. I am building this bike to be a road-going runner, not a full restoration. Here's what you need to do this fix DIY style like I did: Compatible Front Brake Light Switch: https://ebay.us/i6S8y8 Copper Grease: https://ebay.us/X70Iww I noticed that the brake light didn’t come on with the front brake. I had spotted that there seemed to be some non-standard wiring to it, but I suspected the switch. I have had a lot of these little plastic switches break in the past, so I have had a little experience with them. When I tested the wiring it was fine, so I was right about it being the switch. I ordered one from eBay straight away. Lots of bikes of lots of makes use of the same switch so they are quite easy to find. Fitting it is relatively easy, there is one screw that sometimes seizes, but was OK this time. I used some copper grease when I put it back for next time. It can be a little fiddly getting the screw back in, especially if you are trying to film it. But I managed in the end. I hope you can see what I was doing. Although this is a simple job it is worth looking at what other people do, you never know there might be a great idea to help you complete it. I have learned so much from watching others even after years of spannering for myself.
