SOLVED - read the pinned comment. (TLDR - After a factory reset, with the same settings, it works as intended). I've been so excited for the Sony A7V to be released, as I really wanted a true modern hybrid camera from Sony, at sub $3K that could do both photography and video at a great level for the current times. Finally, the Sony A7V came out and I knew I wanted to get at least one, despite not having open-gate, shutter angle and anamorphic support. Still hoping Sony adds those through firmware. But ever since receiving the A7V I noticed something was off with the Auto-focus, especially in the AF area Wide mode... with native Sony G-Master lenses. It had a hard time switching or doing so in a smooth manner between subjects. I've heard about the "great and amazing AI autofocus that we've come to expect from Sony cameras". My old A7III cameras seem to do a better job than the new A7V. Tested it against an A7SIII as well and that one did better as well. As I was editing some urgent projects, I could not test it thoroughly it the first week of getting the camera, but now I am thinking about returning it. What do you think? Is this a general issue or just an issue with my copy of the A7V? If it is indeed a general issue, hope Sony are aware of it and actively trying to fix it. @Sony @ImagingbySony
