Newton, assistant professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. My clinical specialties include endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms, along with carotid artery disease and doing carotid endarterectomies, and revascularization of the lower extremities, along with dialysis access. The reason I became a vascular surgeon is because of the challenges that it offers surgically and the complex disease processes found in the specialty. I believe in total patient care - I also have a background in Internal Medicine, which I'm able to incorporate into the disease processes that we see in Vascular Surgery. What I enjoy most is developing a relationship with [patients] and fixing their problems and following them throughout their lifetime as they deal with these issues. I think Wake Forest offers the total package of care which would include strong medical school background, their good clinical faculty and good clinical outcomes.
