A senior Russian general has been rushed to hospital after being shot in Moscow, state media reported on Friday. The suspect is said to have fled the scene after shooting Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeyev several times in the Russian capital. Lieut. Alexeyev is deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff at the Defence Ministry.
