Finding a job can be difficult. Finding a job in tech even more so if you don't "fit the culture" or aren't in the demographic the company usually seeks. The search can be especially difficult for people that are transitioning from a career outside of web or are new, fresh out of a bootcamp or college. There is hope. Though not a professional, I spent over twenty years of searching for a job in tech and can only relay my experience, hope, resilience some say, and encourage others to stay the course if tech is truly something they want to do as a career. Todd Libby is a professional web developer, designer, and accessibility advocate for 22 years under many different technologies starting with HTML/CSS, Perl, and PHP, Todd has been an avid learner of web technologies for over 40 years starting with many flavors of BASIC all the way to React/Vue. Currently an Accessibility Analyst at Knowbility, Todd is also a member of the W3C Silver, ACT, and AGWG groups, as well as many subgroups doing work on WCAG 3.0. When not coding, you'll usually find Todd tweeting about lobster rolls and accessibility, as well as hanging out by the ocean. https://toddl.dev/ / toddlibby / toddlibby Talk recorded on 25 June 2021 as part of Virtual Coffee's Lunch & Learn series. https://virtualcoffee.io/ / virtualcoffeeio / virtualcoffee.io
