Dorset Gene Pool are a collection of good friends that have evolved over time from a variety of local bands of numerous genres. They now make up an exciting and eclectic form of what is typically known as a “Covers Band” - but such is the unique nature of this collaboration a more accurate description is an UNCOVERS BAND. We don’t play typically overplayed songs, we chose classics that have been somewhat buried under the populist pile and uncover them to present them to our audience in a fresh style, often overlaid with Violin, Cello, Mandolin and even the Tuba. Whilst we draw on our first adolescent musical memories of the likes of Zeppelin and Gary Moore in the UK, we also take more modern hits from our children’s worldwide playlists such as Greenday and Kings of Convenience… to name but a few. We enjoy playing music festivals.
