0:00 set-up 1:59 DV77 clean 2:52 ET65 clean 3:29 DV77 High Gain 4:14 ET65 High Gain 5:12 DV77 & ET65 clean 5:59 DV77 & ET65 High Gain Guitar: 1997 Ibanez RG7620 with Dimarzio Illuminator 7 pickup on the bridge and Dimarzio custom 7 on the neck What you’ll notice: Immediately you can hear the volume difference with the combo being slightly louder due to it being semi open back . This means it fills the room more because sound is exiting the cab from both sides . The 112 closed back has a focused low end however which you feel in the room . A bit more punchy with palm mutes . Both have advantages and utilizing both is very dynamic What I’m hearing : DV77 - very full midrange , rounded off top end , very tight low end response ! Speaker sounds very forward and loud . No harshness. Dark ( dark compared to a V30 in context as a “bright” speaker ) ET65 - lots of top end definition but not harsh, scooped mid range, lots of low end but still pretty tight. Sounds brighter than the DV77 but still dark ( dark compared to a V30 in context as a “bright” speaker ) DV77 & ET65 - together they blend incredibly well. DV77 fills in the midrange while the ET65 adds nice top end . Both have tight low end responses . The voicing of both blended really well and add a lot of growl.
