The Cricova Winery, located in the central part of the Republic of Moldova, not far from Chisinau, called the "Pearl of Moldovan Winemaking" and a symbol of the Republic of Moldova, is famous throughout the world for its huge underground labyrinth in which classic sparkling wines are produced and enormous quantities are stored together with other types of wine. However, the attraction of the underground wine cellar has been increased tenfold in the last 20 years by the tourist development of the labyrinth, which can be visited in the form of guided tours (with prior appointment), with electric minibuses available. The present video clip, although it also captures essential sequences of the four points of visit on foot, wants to present especially the underground route by car. The four stations that can be visited on foot are, in order: 1. The still wine storage sector and the presentation of the underground city 2. The production and storage section of classic sparkling wine where we learn about the complicated methodology of producing sparkling wine using the Champenoise method and where we learn two new words: "remuage" and "disgorging" 3. The cinema, where with a glass of wine in hand, we watch a documentary that presents the history of winemaking and the Cricova Winery 4. A visitor complex composed of 4 very interesting objectives, very different from each other, which we visit in order: The Museum (with the reception area and the church) - The National Winery - The tasting complex - The store. All these objectives, which can be visited on foot, will be detailed in another video. Returning to the main subject of this video, namely the route through the underground labyrinth, it appeared and has been continuously developed since 1947 by extracting stone (limestone) with the help of special machines. Thus, galleries with a rectangular profile and intersecting perpendicularly were formed. Currently, their length has reached about 120 km, of which 80 km are used for storing still and sparkling wines, and 40 km remain unused for the time being. These galleries are actually the streets of the underground city and are named after the type of wine stored in the adjacent niches, for example Dionis, Cabernet, Fetească, Aligote, Sauvignon.
