"Kesariya Balam" is an Indian television series that aired on Sahara One, focusing on the life of Rukmini, a poor Rajput girl who faces numerous challenges and battles her destiny. The show was produced by Ajay Sinha. Synopsis: Rukmini, affectionately known as Rukmi, resides with her father Madan Singh, stepmother Dhapu, half-sister Rasal, and half-brother Gheesu. In her childhood, Rukmi saved Rasal from a fire, resulting in burn scars on one side of her face, which she conceals with a half-veil. This disfigurement becomes a barrier to her acceptance in society. Ranveer, a painter and the son of a wealthy family, paints a portrait of a girl resembling Rukmi from his imagination. Upon meeting Rukmi, he realizes she's the embodiment of his muse and proposes marriage. Rukmi attempts to reveal her scars to Ranveer but is thwarted by Dhapu, who alters Rukmi's letter disclosing the truth. Believing Ranveer is aware of her scars, they marry. On their wedding night, Ranveer discovers her scars, feels deceived, and rejects her as his wife. Ranveer's family seeks a new bride for him. Madan Singh persuades Rasal to marry Ranveer, despite her love for a soldier named Vikram. Post-marriage, Ranveer and his family grow fond of Rasal, while Rukmi is relegated to domestic duties. Over time, Ranveer and Rasal fall in love, but tragedy strikes when Rasal suffers a miscarriage. A drunken Ranveer later assaults Rukmi, leading to her pregnancy. To protect Rasal, Rukmi conceals Ranveer's involvement. Eventually, Rasal learns the truth and forgives Ranveer, acknowledging he wasn't in his senses. Rukmi, however, loses her unborn child in an accident. The narrative further unfolds with familial conflicts, Ranveer's presumed death, his memory loss, and eventual reconciliation with Rukmi. The series concludes with the family overcoming adversities, reuniting, and finding happiness.
