TOP Things to do in Guatemala City 🇬🇹

In this travel vlog, we spent 48 hours in Guatemala City. Most tourists who visit Guatemala choose to skip Guatemala City and make their way directly to Antigua, Guatemala. Most tourists skip Guatemala city because of stereotypes about how dangerous it is. While parts of the city are indeed dangerous, doing some research and staying in the safer neighborhoods makes this city worth visiting. On day 1, we visited the national palace of culture to understand the history of the country a bit better. This palace is actively used by the country's president and is really worth visiting given that a guided tour costs only $7. We also visited Guatemala City's best mall - Oakland Mall which is better than any mall I have seen in Canada. On day 2, we visited the La Aurora zoo and the Esquilandia amusement park. The amusement park was old and a bit small but it had it's own charm given that we were one of the few people there and had all the rides to ourselves. On day 3, we visited the Central Market of Guatemala which was an amazing place to try the local food and see the day to day life. We found the market in Guatemala city to be very different from the markets in Colombia.
