Homepage of BasscoverPete https://basscoverpete.com/ Such a wonderful bassline from Deon Estus! It starts rather basic with the main groove in the Intro and first Verse. In the Chorus Deon changes the main groove from 1,5 quarter note followed by an eight note to a quarter note followed by a rest and a sixteenth note. This seems a little change but definitely gives quite an other feel. He continues playing these sixteenth notes in the second Verse and adds little accents/licks. He keeps growing in his bassline where in the second Chorus Deon plays some really nice slides and a wonderful thrill at the end of the chorus (bar 44). In the Bridge the bassline even got more licks and he keeps building the bassline in the third Chorus where he plays some octaves (bar 62) a lick with wonderful slides (bar 64). And there’s this wonderful lick in the Outro (bar 80) and he even ends with a thrill in the last bar (bar 92). This all about building a bassline; starting with a basic main groove; adding some 16th notes; adding licks; playing thrills or slides in places where they fit most. Such a wonderful bassline!
