Scotland the Brave as the Massed Pipe Bands start their march for 2023 Oldmeldrum Highland Games

Drum Major Bert Summers leading the massed pipe bands into the Games field for the opening march of the 2023 Oldmeldrum Sports and Highland Games. These were held at Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on Saturday 17th June 2022. Following in the car was the special guest, Sandy Manson, Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire. Behind leading Drum Major Bert Summers were Drum Majors were Bill Barclay, Ronnie Rennie, Neil Jamieson, Derek Dean and Walter Davidson. Taking part were the Lonach Pipe Band, Inverurie Pipe Band, Huntly & District Pipe Band, Kintore Pipe Band and Oldmeldrum RBL Pipe Band. The bands were playing Scotland the Brave and then Flett from Flotta. Drum Major Bert Summers is a well respected Drum Major who was 79 years young at these Games. He started at 12 years old and has won almost all major championships with numerous bands and led most of the massed band events in the North East of Scotland.
