The King said his cancer treatment will be reduced in the new year after reaching a “milestone.” In a TV message, he thanked doctors and medical advances, and stressed that early diagnosis saves lives. He encouraged people to get checked, saying screening is usually quick and only mildly uncomfortable. The message aired on Channel 4 during Stand Up to Cancer, and also promoted a new site, screeningchecker.co.uk, which helps people find cancer screening programmes they can access. The Palace still hasn’t shared what type of cancer he has, and the King hasn’t said he’s in remission, but his treatment is expected to become much less frequent.
