Gursewak Singh charged in shooting, extortion case in Calgary NE | RED FM News

Statement of Calgary Police: On Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at approx. 8 a.m., a man reportedly exited his residence in the 0 to 100 block of Savanna Green N.E. & found his 2 vehicles & the exterior of his home damaged by what appeared to be bullet holes. No occupants sustained injuries. The victim contacted police who responded & began to investigate the incident. It is believed that earlier that morning, at approx. 2:20 a.m., multiple shots were fired at the house from a passing vehicle. Four days later, on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, the victim contacted investigators, as it is believed he had received threatening phone calls referring to the shooting and demanding a large sum of cash. Through CCTV & evidence left at the scene, investigators identified 2 suspects in the shooting. As a result, Gursewak SINGH, 32, is charged with: 📌 1 count of reckless discharge of a firearm 📌 1 count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public 📌 1 count of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm 📌 1 count of a firearm in a motor vehicle 📌 1 count of possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm 📌 1 count of possession of a firearm contrary to an undertaking 📌 1 count of property damage over $5,000 📌 1 count of extortion SINGH will next appear in court on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.
