As a Christian life coach, I often hear clients say, "I’m just stressed." But if we look closer, overwhelmed isn’t just a busy schedule; it’s a state of soul-strangulation. It’s the feeling that the waves are higher than the boat. While the world tells you to just "manage your time," the Word tells us to manage our spirit. 1. Identify the Source: Is it Logic or Battle? Sometimes we are overwhelmed because we said "yes" to five things God never asked us to do. That’s a stewardship issue. But other times, that heavy, suffocating fog of "I can’t do this" is actually spiritual warfare. The enemy loves to use overwhelm as a tactical distraction. If he can keep you drowning in the "too much," he keeps you from the "one thing" that matters: your assignment. The Strategy: Recognize the "Spirit of Heaviness." If your overwhelm is accompanied by irrational fear, shame, or a desire to isolate, you aren't just busy—you're under fire. 2. The Power of the "Sacred No" In coaching, we talk about boundaries. In Scripture, we talk about discernment. Overwhelm is often the physical manifestation of a boundary that has been breached. Audit your "Yes": Are you carrying a burden God intended for someone else? The Jesus Model: Jesus walked, He didn't run. He took naps during storms. He slipped away from crowds when they wanted more of Him. He knew that fulfilling His mission required protecting His margin. 📙 Grab a copy of my book, "Disciplining Your Mind, 30 Days to a Better You!" here⬇️ http://www.amazon.com/Disciplining-Yo... 📔 Want a quick but very powerful read on self-care?
