South Goa Beach Canaguinim Beach #southgoatourismplaces #goabeach #southgoabeaches #goa #marathi #travelkardotcom #travelkar #fatorpa #southgoa This is the nearest beach to my house at village Fatorpa South Goa accessible by road. It took me 35 years to reach this place for the first time when I had taken a bike on rent in Goa. There are no clear traffic sign boards to reach Canaguinim Beach and an un-inviting board starting "Visitors Not Allowed" but its a nice place once reached here. There are lifeguards on the Canaguinim beach deployed during the tourist season and very active. If there are drunk couples splashing around, the life guard actively comes down from his observation post and lurks nearby if urgent help is needed. This Canaguinim Beach actually have 2 beaches. the smaller one is on the left side and very beautiful just about 20feet wide. Canaguinim Beach also has a lagoon. Back water which fills during high tide and slowly recedes during low tide creating a large pool so the sea water is not stale and a active stream of sea water. Safe for kids and family to play in it. There are no showers or toilets nor changing rooms nor rooms for hire in the area nor shacks to chill so have to bring in your own food, mats and booze. Its now illegal to drink on a beach in Goa. There is a beer shop near the beach but no one goes there other than locals. Mornings and evenings are contrasting here. Mornings are usually lined with quite foreigners who come here for a swim by boats from near by 5 star resorts since coconut trees give ample shade to lay on the beach and read a book. Evenings people come for sunset and a few with fishing rods to catch fish close to the rocky out crops. This is a perfect beach for a family outing, play vollyball and bring their own food and water. Some even bring trolly party speakers. Locals are NOT FRIENDLY and don't allow you to bring in your car (while you see a lot of cars later near the beach when you reach in). They are irritated by the influx of the tourist crowd. So you need to park on the narrow main road about 100 mtrs away from the beach. We don't go here often because my wife gets agitated each time watching sand on the house floor, bathroom and washing machine. I took my son Harsh with me since he was insisting on going to this gian beach. Last year my daughter Tanuja came too on the shire line to play in the sea but it was difficult for us to walk her down since she is handicap.
