Recorded at Symphony Heights, Singapore, on 14th December 2024 Composed by Yuji Ohno Arranged by Yudai Hatanaka First introduced in 1977 as the iconic opening theme to the anime series Lupin the Third Part II, Yuji Ohno’s “Theme from Lupin the Third” has become a classic of Japanese pop culture and a defining example of jazz-infused anime music. Characterized by its infectious groove, bold brass lines, and sleek, swaggering energy, the theme perfectly captures the essence of its titular character: the charming and elusive gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin III. In this arrangement for Niibori guitar ensemble, the familiar big band textures are reimagined through the rich tonal palette of the guitar orchestra. Prime guitars take on the role of the rhythm section, anchoring the syncopated pulse, while the alto and bass guitars bring forward the melodic hooks and brassy accents. Listeners can expect a stylish, upbeat performance that channels both the retro flair of the original and the unique color of the ensemble. 🎸 About us Founded in 2022, Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a collaborative effort between passionate young guitarists from NUS and SMU. Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a fledgling group aiming to develop, promote and explore the Niibori guitar art form through music creation and performance.
