#med (Music.Every.Day) This is video 527 of my video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of NEW piano music every. single. day! This video is so..... CUTE! That's the name of the song, and if you listen to it, that's probably what you are going to think of! This piece is written by Neal Hefti and Stanley Styne. This jazz arrangement was written by Brent Edstrom and comes from the Hal Leonard collection called "Jazz Piano Solos" in the volume named "Cocktail Jazz". I like that Brent makes use of pauses and rests. And I love the little tinkly (cute) interjections they have at the end of each little bit of melody. This piece is not easy to record--when there's not a lot of notes, every note has to be perfect because there's not a lot happening. The biggest challenge in this piece is near the end, with a fast triplet figure with dense parallel chords. It's a trick that he likes to throw in now and then to make sure you are awake, and to give the performer a little "heart attack" moment at the end. haha!
