If your delta tub handle is stuck, and if you have removed the hex nut from the faucet handle and it won't come off no matter what because of corrosion, here's how you can remove the old handle with a hacksaw. But you have to be willing to spend $15 on a new handle and $35 on a new faucet cartridge insert (Delta in this example). Check to see if your manufacturer offers to replace the cartridge for free, as many do. If you can't figure out if the tub and shower cartridge is a Delta "multi" or Delta "monitor," just look at the face plate. I didn't do that and thought I had to open it up to figure out which cartridge it was, but then I saw the word "Monitor" right on the faceplate. 0:00 Intro: "It's stuck!" 0:08 Here is what did not work. 0:53 Step 1: squeeze the hacksaw blade between the handle and the cartridge and saw. 1:48 Step 2: remove the bonnet nut. 2:31 Step 3: replace the Delta tub and shower cartridge and reassemble everything. 3:25 A footnote on how to determine whether to buy a "monitor" or "multi" cartridge. UPDATE: At 2:58 I mention spraying WD40 to prevent this. Commenter mike maid (@mikemaid5350) wrote "Use silicone grease not wd 40 it eats rubber."
