Video recorded using a GoPro Hero 12 in Linear mode with HyperSmooth stabilization in AutoBoost mode. Stats recorded using the Ghostracer app on a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, connected to a Polar H7 heart rate monitor on a chest strap. Stats overlaid using gpx2video and best-effort manual synchronisation. I'd have liked to have had the camera pointing a bit higher, but it can be a tricky thing to judge! This was forecast to become one of the warmer days of Spring, starting at around 6°C and rising to about 17°C, so I wanted to get out there before it got too warm! The plan was originally to jog through Longueville Wood in one direction, to use the footbridge across the Orton Parkway to create another loop, then to go through Longueville Wood in the other direction, before making it up as I went along from there. At some point on the way to the footbridge, I remembered about the new Elder Brook housing estate in Alwalton, and decided to capture that in its partly-finished state before heading back to the woods. As I emerged from the Orton Subway East at about ten minutes from shop-opening time, I took a look around the Orton Centre, half expecting queues of early risers. Where I /did/ see a queue though was outside the Bushfield Leisure Centre, as the Comic Con was about to begin... I was tempted to check out the food stall as somewhere to end my run, but didn't fancy trying to jog through the line, and instead carried on with the plan to revisit the woods. Not as many dogs or dog walkers the second time around! I figured the plan to cross the footbridge was still a good one, and so returned to Orton Southgate. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember how to get in to Glencoe Way from that direction, so instead I headed to Gostwick and crossed the bridge from that side before trying to "jog" my memory by coming out of Glencoe Way and then heading home - but since the GoPro ran out of batteries as I approached the Post Office building in Orton Southgate, you'll have to take my word for the rest!
