This my Last Trip of 2024. Come and join me. As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) working in the airline industry, I often find myself away from home, far from the warmth of my family and the familiarity of the place I call home. But this Christmas, I'm feeling especially blessed and grateful for the perks of my job – one of which is the ability to fly back home for special occasions like Christmas. It’s Christmas Eve, and as I rush through the airport, my heart is full of excitement and anticipation. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can be overwhelming at times, but the thought of being reunited with my family makes every moment worth it. The flight back home always feels like a special mission, almost like a journey of gratitude for everything that’s come before. Christmas has always been a time for family, laughter, and making memories. As an OFW, I know firsthand how important these moments are. The distance might be great, but the bond I share with my loved ones is even greater. Every holiday season spent away from home reminds me just how precious these occasions truly are. I feel incredibly fortunate to work in an industry that allows me to reunite with my family on such a meaningful day. While the job itself can be demanding and filled with challenges, it also brings immense rewards—one of which is the opportunity to be with my loved ones during special times like this. To my fellow OFWs, I know how hard it can be to spend the holidays away from home. But remember, your sacrifices don’t go unnoticed.
