We’re diving into the history of Anguilla and celebrating the legacy of a great leader—James Ronald Webster, the Father of the Nation. We’re also going to talk about one of Anguilla’s most thrilling events, the First Class B boat race that sails around the entire island! If you love history, culture, and the spirit of competition, then this one’s for you. But before we get into it, make sure to like, share, and subscribe to my channel for more amazing content! James Ronald Webster: The Father of the Nation James Ronald Webster is a name that every Anguillian holds with the deepest respect. He is known as the Father of the Nation because of his pivotal role in leading Anguilla to independence from St. Kitts and Nevis in 1967. Without his leadership, courage, and vision, Anguilla would not be the thriving island it is today. Born on March 2, 1926, Webster grew up understanding the struggles of his people. He was a man of integrity who believed in justice, fairness, and the right to self-determination. When Anguillians found themselves under a government that did not represent them, he stepped forward to lead a peaceful revolution. His dedication led to Anguilla becoming a separate British Overseas Territory, ensuring that the people had control over their own future. To this day, his legacy lives on, not only in history books but in the hearts of every Anguillian. His birthday, March 2nd, is a public holiday in Anguilla—a day when we reflect on his leadership and the freedom he helped secure for One love from Anguilla! 561-929-9800
