The ETAT system has the following categories: Those with EMERGENCY SIGNS who require immediate emergency treatment. If you find any emergency signs, take the child to the resuscitation area and do the following immediately: Start to give appropriate emergency treatment. Call a senior health worker and other health workers to help. Carry out emergency laboratory investigations. Those with PRIORITY SIGNS, indicating that they should be given priority in the queue, must be moved to the front of the queue so medical care can commence without delay. Those who have no emergency or priority signs are NON-URGENT cases. These children can wait their turn in the queue for assessment and treatment.
