A VERY UNIQUE BALI TEMPLE 🕉 Pura Tirta Empul (and Tegalalang Rice Terraces)

We started our day with a visit to the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, a beautiful step farming site just 30 mins north of Ubud, Bali. Its a very popular Instagram spot and one of the most recommended things to do in Bali! And once we got there, we quickly realised why. Its definitely very beautiful, but we later learnt that the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are even more beautiful and even named as a UNESCO world heritage site. Later we rode to Pura Tirta Empul, the Holy Water Temple of Vishnu (Wisnu) where the Balinese come to perform a traditional water purification ceremony in the holy spring water. We participated in the ceremony and learnt about the customs. Later we learnt that Shiva, Brahma, Indra and Mt. Batur are also worshipped in the Temple. We ended the trip with a visit to a Warung (local restaurant in Indonesian) in central Ubud called Bia Bia as it was close to our stay.
