Brief Overview of Who Kurt Kitayama is: While he has also played other sports, including basketball, the California native has been golfing since he was five and officially turned professional in 2015, with his first pro title win following a few years later in 2018 at the PGM Darulaman Championship in Malaysia in 2018 during the Asian Development Tour. Earlier in his golfing career, The Junior Golf Association of Northern California selected Kitayama as Player of the Year in 2009. He would later play with the Academic All-Mountain West team for several years while attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Since then, Kitayama has added several professional wins to his resume, including PGA Tour wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2023, AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in 2018, and Oman Open in 2019. His current world golf ranking is #28. Q&A What’s it like being on tour? Kitayama feels more relaxed playing on tour – the pressure to play well year after year isn’t as intense as being on tour for the next three years. Do you have a favorite golf course? Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge Pebble Beach Golf Course What is the most difficult course you’ve played? -U.S. Open Courses Do you have any superstitions? Kurt always keeps six tees in his right pocket, a divet fixer in his left pocket, and always carries a quarter on him. What are you like when you aren’t on tour? Kurt enjoys spending time with friends and playing video games while relaxing at home. His favorite video game is Call of Duty. Do you have any siblings, and do they play golf? An older brother who played golf in college. He has experience as a caddie, including for Kurt Kitayama. Caddies have a huge influence on your game. Who is your caddy now? Tim Tucker How do you describe your personal style? More colorful while on the golf course but more casual and relaxed at home. Are you into sneakers? Yes. Kurt likes to wear Michael Jordans. What was your first luxury watch investment? Kitayama began his watch-collecting journey with a black dial Rolex Submariner just this year. What watch is next on your wish list? The PGA golfer still has his eyes set on Rolex for its versatility and sophisticated aesthetics. What’s it like being a part of the Bob’s Watches family?
