📍Dhaka, Bangladesh 🇧🇩 The plan was Sylhet. A train, a quiet ride, a change of pace. But the day had other ideas. Running late, we flagged down a rickshaw and asked for the train station. Lots of traffic, no time to spare. He took us to the metro instead. Probably our fault. Wrong words, wrong place. By the time we reached the actual railway station, we had ninety seconds to spare. It didn’t matter. The train was sold out. Should have booked in advance. Rookie mistake. This isn’t India or Pakistan, where you can talk your way on board or sort it out once you're moving. In Bangladesh, you book it early or you don’t go. They offered Chittagong instead, tonight’s train. We said we’d think about it. Took ten minutes. Came back ready. Too late. Sold out again. So we weren’t leaving Dhaka. We grabbed cold drinks and stood in the shade, laughing because sometimes that’s all you can do. We needed coffee. Found a shop, but no seats, no tables, takeaway only. Of course. But the coffee? Exceptional. Genuinely brilliant. We wandered through a local market. Bargained for a Brazil football shirt by pretending to be Brazilian, piecing together what little Portuguese we had. Somehow it worked. One pound well spent. Then we found a rickshaw driver who looked exactly like Joelinton from Newcastle, same grin, same energy. It helped. We ended the day with mutton kacchi again. The kind of food that makes the bad parts fade. Warm, rich, real. Some days just don’t go your way. But if you’re lucky, you still end up with good coffee, great food, and a story to tell. 👨🏻💻 Give us a follow on your favorite social media: / jackaynsleytravel / jackaynsleytravel & / paigeaynsleytravel / jackaynsleytravel & / paigeaynsleytravel 👋🏼 Support us!
