Using the LM-1 Drum Computer, making big decisions on the production of this track, Prince redefined how pop music could be. With insights from Roger Linn creator of the Linn drum machine and Peggy McCreary, the engineer at Sunset Sound Studios who worked with Prince during the recording of Purple Rain, I uncover the story behind how this legendary song was crafted.
