#letsdoasongeachnightwhilewecan 🎼 🎸 🎼 Day 850 Wanted to try this sooner or later. Could have waited some more maybe, because of recent first illness in close to a decade all of last week. Missed a couple of beats and chords here and there. Anyway, this one closes one of my alltime favorite albums by Johnny Cash. It's B5 on the 1985 special Gospel project for Word Records (A&M) 'Believe in Him'. The album was produced by Marty Stuart and contains only great performances of Gospel songs of which Cash wrote half of the tracks himself. Special note for a then new recording of his Sun Records song "Belshazar" on B3, the other four were new material back then ("Another wide River to cross", "My Children walk in Truth", "Half a Mile a Day" and this "One of these days i'm gonna sit down and talk to Paul"). The five covers contain a duet with Jessi Colter on A5 "That Old Rugged Cross", titletrack A1 "Believe in Him" (Jimmy Tittle), A4 Ray Pennington's "Over there" (proving the man can write gospels too, besides his classic "I'm a rambling man" for Waylon Jennings) and Bill Monroe's "You're drifting away" as B2 and only cover on that side. Be sure to spread love not hate 🌹 Thanks for watching 🌹 Be safe 🌹
