Her collection is world famous, but her name is not. Curator Renske Cohen Tervaert tells the story of Helene Kröller-Müller, the trailblazing woman who collected one of the most impressive modern art collections in the world. Kröller-Müller amassed a staggering 11,500 works. 220 of them were by Van Gogh, with Helene being among the earliest collectors to recognise his brilliance. She also championed a radical group of 19th and 20th-century artists called the Neo-Impressionists. This extraordinary collection now lives at the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands, which Helene founded in the 1930s. This autumn, for the first time, the Museum’s finest Neo-Impressionist works have travelled to London, to star in our landmark exhibition, 'Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller’s Neo-Impressionists'.
