ENERGY ROOM How can artificial and human intelligence be leveraged together to inspire a new climate and environment narrative that informs businesses and society? As climate and environmental crises accelerate, access to reliable information has become a critical public good and a foundation for effective decision-making. At the same time, advances in artificial intelligence are reshaping how information is produced, amplified, and contested — creating both new risks and new opportunities for trust. This session will examine how AI is transforming the climate and environmental information ecosystem, from scientific data to public communication, risk management, and cross-sector decision-making. It will explore the challenges posed by disinformation, fragmented narratives, and declining trust, and the implications this has for societies, businesses, and security. Bringing together perspectives from science, technology, policy, media, and business, the discussion will highlight emerging approaches that place human judgment, institutional credibility, and transparency at the centre of AI-enabled information systems, and explore how collaboration can strengthen information integrity and reduce systemic risk in the public interest.
